Surgical Tech III
In keeping with the CommonSpirit Health core values, the Surgical Tech III is to function as a team member during the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure. Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of three (3) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist. Completion of Surgical Technologist training. Completion of Certification as Surgical Technologist. One of these Certifications is required: CST (Certified Surgical Tech) or TS-C (NCCT - Tech in Surgery-Certified). BLS certification required within 30 days of employment. Demonstrates intermediate skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist II. Demonstrates proficiency in five (5) specialties including but not limited to: Urology GYN ENT Orthopedics/Podiatry Robots General Plastics Pain Management procedures Vascular Neurosurgery Thoracic Surgery Cardiac Surgery Ophthalmology Demonstrates ability to serve as a preceptor and role model for new Surgical Technologist staff and Surgical Technologist students during their clinical rotations. Demonstrates ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery. Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates ability to work in a stressful environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused. Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately both in oral and written English skills. Demonstrates ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs, unit based task forces and committees. Seeks opportunities for improving job knowledge and skills. Demonstrates ability to assume on call status as determined by department manager and according to department needs. Demonstrates ability to role model proficient, intermediate, or advanced technical and specialty skills. Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical difficulties and scheduling conflicts with audio visual and other equipment.
