The Customer Service Representative is responsible for accurate and timely entry, update, and management of customer orders. This role ensures that all purchase orders are processed according to urgency and customer requirements, including rush and storm-related orders. The representative coordinates with internal departments, plant personnel, and external stakeholders to ensure orders are scheduled, filled, and shipped efficiently. Strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to success in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Accurately enter and update customer purchase orders, including revisions, into the order entry system in a timely manner. Prioritize order processing based on urgency (e.g., rush/storm orders) and coordinate with expeditors and plant personnel for special handling. Communicate with PLP personnel, manufacturing plants, sales reps, and customers to resolve order-related issues and ensure timely fulfillment and shipment. Provide phone coverage as part of the Customer Service Call Group to support incoming inquiries and maintain service continuity. Respond to inquiries from customers regarding their orders and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner. Ensure all order updates are communicated to the appropriate parties to maintain alignment and avoid delays Review daily reports related to processed orders to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and proactively address any issues. Serve as backup for Switchboard/Receptionist duties as needed. Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure maximum efficiency in the order entry process. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the customer service function and maintain high service standards Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum high school diploma. Specialized business education or a degree in an applicable discipline is helpful. One to three years of prior experience in order processing or customer service. Proficiency with computer software, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ability to interpret and assist with customer requests Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Strong communication and writing skills People-oriented Schedule:
