OverviewMilliman's Indianapolis Health practice is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst Intern (Summer 2026) to support our consulting work with life sciences companies. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team to execute solutions using data-based approaches across a variety of coding platforms. Our solutions support life sciences companies' strategies for their products. You will be part of a dynamic client delivery team and receive mentoring from colleagues on your team. Successful data analyst interns are problem solvers, have the ability to code with a willingness to learn more, and are able to communicate technical results in a clear and concise manner.Responsibilities In this role, you will:Analyze large, complex health and drug datasets Implement data analysis plans to address project objectivesLearn and use coding languages to analyze data and check for reasonability of resultsBuild user-friendly and dynamic Excel modelsUtilize strong problem-solving skillsEffectively communicate data analysis findings to the consulting team (verbally and written)Work efficiently in a multi-task environmentWork both independently and collaboratively on projectsQualifications Enthusiastic about working with health-centric dataEager to learn new technologiesStrong written and oral communication skillsOrganizational and time management skillsDetail-oriented and capable of carrying out tasks independentlyInsightful, able to pose good questionsCollaborative team playerRequiredCurrently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, data science, statistics, economics, or another related quantitative fieldExperience with Microsoft Excel or other similar software for quantitative analysisExperience with coding languages (e.g., SAS, R, VBA, SQL) and a desire to learn moreWill have completed Bachelor's degree or higher, in an analytics or mathematics-related field, and available for full-time employment by Fall 2026 or summer 2027PreferredDesire to grow and progressively take on more responsibilitiesIndividual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.Internship Highlights 1:1 mentoringExposure to senior consultants and practice leaders Structured opportunities for professional learning and development i.e. Lunch & Learn SeriesGuest speaker series covering a wide range of professional development skillsHousing or housing stipendSocial activities - intern-only and practice-wideCultural excursions - Get to know Indy by visiting iconic sitesConclude the program with a presentation on a business project or problem to leadership and peersAmple opportunity to discuss transitioning to full-time employmentThe TeamThe Life Sciences consulting team is a group of 60+ individuals in the Indianapolis Health practice from varying backgrounds including actuaries, data analysts, pharmacists, and graphic designers. This group works primarily with life sciences companies and consults on their relationship with insurance companies and other stakeholders of the life sciences value chain.LocationThis position is based out of the Milliman office in Indianapolis, IN.
