**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 13-week assignment on the day shift. The ideal candidate will maintain high standards of nursing care, assure the nursing care plan is adhered to, and provide supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and new team members.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care. - Identify patient teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. - Provide timely patient information and status updates for Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences on a weekly basis. - Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policies. - Actively participate in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on direct patient care and education of patients and their families. - Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge. - Communicate significant changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety. - Provide guidance, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, enhancing unit operations through effective communication and collaboration. - Ensure environmental and personal safety according to established hospital and nursing policies. - Contribute positively to the unit's team dynamics, providing reassurance and calm direction to staff, patients, and families. - Maintain open communication with management regarding service needs, supply monitoring, and equipment maintenance. - Assume charge responsibilities post-orientation as needed. - Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and competencies. - Conduct other nursing duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
- Current RN license. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to first shift. - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for specific locations prior to first shift. - Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience, with ICU experience preferred.
