The SCU focuses on providing intermediate care for patients transitioning from ICU to medical-surgical levels. In this role, you will be responsible for offering care to patients who require close monitoring and support, ensuring a safe and effective recovery process. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including those recovering from post-cardiac procedures and stable ventilator weans. - Monitor patients utilizing telemetry and respond to their needs efficiently. - Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. - Manage alarm systems effectively using CenTrack, contributing to the care environment. - Exhibit strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage high patient census rates and diverse patient needs. **Unit Details:** - **Beds:** 24-bed SCU - **Patient Ratios:** 1:3-4 - **Census:** Typically operates at 98-99% capacity - **Unit Amenities:** - U-shape layout with a centrally located nursing station. - Access to Pyxis machines for medication management at both ends of the hall. - Windows in patient rooms for visibility from the hallway. - Centralized clean supply area for staff convenience. **Qualifications:** - A valid nursing license is required. - Experience in telemetry and intermediate care is preferred. - Strong assessment and critical thinking skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-demand environment. **At ARMStaffing, we take care of our nurses!
