Major Duties (Job Description)
Provide cost estimation support, assist in implementing cost estimating in support of acquisition milestones.
Perform special research tasks designed to utilize and enhance knowledge of work processes and techniques, and to apply fundamentals of related disciplines.
Identify sources of data and perform data acquisition and reduction.
Conduct scientific inquiry and analysis to address unique or recurring problems faced by decision makers.
Systematically examine and develop alternative courses of action to evaluate their advantages and disadvantages.
Qualification Summary
Applicants must meet the education qualifications standard for Department of Defense positions: possess, or be in possession of before hiring, a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or related subjects, with at least 3 semester hours in calculus.
GS-07:
Resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Proof required. Conditions of Employment Must be a US citizen. Must be suitable for federal employment. Participate in direct deposit. Pass E-Verify check. Retired military appointment restrictions apply. Register for Selective Service if applicable. Obtain and maintain security clearance. Certification in the relevant acquisition area required within timeframes. Travel may be required, including to remote sites, on military and commercial aircraft. Complete training and maintain a government travel card. Sign a mobility agreement for possible relocation.
