Position Overview The U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks a member relations professional to lead engagement with high-level members, manage day-to-day C-suite relationships, and identify and cultivate new revenue and membership opportunities. Leading a multi-industry portfolio, the Senior Manager will engage government relations and C-suite executives of leading companies to develop deep partnerships and leverage those relationships to deliver member value and drive revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior relationship management skills and have extensive experience and expertise in partnering directly with C-suite executives to understand goals and deliver opportunities.

Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational support across the Chief Relationship Officer’s portfolio, helping to advance high-level relationship management, member engagement, and executive alignment efforts. Oversee a personal portfolio of Chamber members in a given industry or industries, leading the strategy and engagement with portfolio member accounts. Support new business growth within the industry portfolio. Contribute to prospecting efforts by identifying and qualifying potential members, supporting outreach strategies, and helping to position the Chamber’s value proposition to new audiences. Oversee day-to-day tracking of invoices, team follow-ups, and financial alignment to maintain and grow Core performance, using the Salesforce platform and other tools. Meet or exceed annual revenue and retention goals within the portfolio and support the development and implementation of an integrated and strategic revenue plan to grow existing accounts. Collaborate across departments to drive execution of key initiatives, ensuring alignment between membership, policy, communications, and other teams on shared goals and deliverables. Work creatively and collaboratively with policy expert colleagues to constantly identify new areas of interest for members throughout the Chamber’s advocacy offerings, deliver contracted benefits, deepen overall engagement, and unlock additional areas of investment. Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize, and drive complex projects to completion, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met on time and within scope. Ability to use cross-functional collaboration, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving to keep teams aligned and projects on track. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in fundraising/sales or member or client relations. Past work experience in professional services, political fundraising, a membership organization, government affairs, a communications agency, or a media company is preferred. Direct revenue responsibility, required. Superior relationship management experience and sales skills. A strong client service ethic. Strong presentation and persuasion skills. Confidence when conversing with C-suite leaders from large corporations in a business development capacity. Excellent written communication skills, a passion for details, and an obsession with accuracy. Deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for policy, with an ability to unpack complex topics and turn them into digestible, compelling sales opportunities. Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber’s value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and an innate appreciation for the contributions that the Chamber makes to the business community at large. Demonstrated ability to engage and understand stakeholder issues impacting prospective member industry(s)/organization(s). A growth and learning mindset characterized by an openness to challenging assumptions at the organization and personal levels. A seasoned and impassioned entrepreneur who is eager to contribute to department-wide transformation and new opportunities. Strong techniques around guiding sales messaging with diplomacy, tact, and sensitivity for a range of audiences. Organizational and business savvy. Data-driven approach to utilizing a CRM, such as Salesforce, to track progress, identify trends, and grow engagement. The salary range for this position is $81,066.00 to $103,120.00 with the possibility of additional compensation through a discretionary bonus. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
