The VP of HR Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving excellence across all HR operational functions. This role oversees HR systems, compliance, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, HR analytics, and process optimization to ensure seamless and scalable HR service delivery.
The VP partners closely with senior leadership to align HR operations with business goals and foster a high-performance, employee-centric culture.
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate exceptional leadership, management, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. A solid background in HR, along with extensive experience in a similar senior-level role, is essential.
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute HR operations strategy aligned with organizational goals. Lead transformation initiatives to modernize HR systems and processes. Serve as a key advisor to the CHRO and executive team on HR operational matters.
HR Systems & Technology
Oversee the optimization of HRIS platform (UKG). Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all HR systems. Leverage technology to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Lead internal audits and manage risk mitigation strategies. Maintain and update HR policies and procedures.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
Oversee payroll processing and benefits programs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Partner with Finance and external vendors to manage compensation and benefits budgets. Evaluate and enhance total rewards offerings to support talent attraction and retention.
Employee Relations
Lead all employee relations functions, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions. Develop and implement strategies to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Ensure consistent application of policies and practices across the organization. Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on sensitive employee matters.
HR Analytics & Reporting
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key HR metrics. Provide insights to support workforce planning and performance management. Use data to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor a high-performing HR operations team. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning. Promote cross-functional collaboration across HR and other departments. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing HR operations and employee relations in a complex, multi-site organization (Healthcare industry preferred) Strong knowledge of UKG HRIS system Expertise in employment law, compliance, and HR best practices. Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
