We are seeking an experienced and strategic Immigration Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of immigration law experience, including five years of courtroom litigation experience, and be an active member of the California Bar. This role requires fluency in Spanish, a solid understanding of crimmigration, and the ability to advise criminal defense attorneys and clients on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions and plea agreements. This position involves representing clients in removal proceedings, handling USCIS interviews and filings, drafting appellate briefs for the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and providing expert consultation on how criminal matters impact immigration status. Compensation: From $110,000.00 yearly, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We encourage candidates to include their compensation expectations in their application. What Were Looking For: A strong commitment to immigrant justice and advocacy Spanish fluency (required) Minimum 5 years experience in immigration law A desire to eventually lead or establish your own practice Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school Minimum five (5) years of experience practicing immigration law Minimum five (5) years of courtroom litigation experience in immigration court Strong knowledge of crimmigration and experience advising on criminal-immigration intersections Experience preparing appellate briefs for the BIA and/or Ninth Circuit strongly preferred Fluency in Spanish is required Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills Ability to develop innovative legal arguments and creative solutions Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively 401K Sick Time Duties and Responsibilities: Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court Prepare and file legal briefs and motions before the BIA and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Represent clients in USCIS interviews and respond to RFEs, NOIDs, and other agency requests Review criminal records and provide written and verbal advisories on the immigration consequences of criminal charges and plea agreements Assist criminal defense attorneys in crafting immigration-safe plea strategies File and litigate applications for immigration relief, including asylum, cancellation of removal, waivers, adjustment of status, and naturalization Conduct thorough client consultations in both Spanish and English Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to prepare and file documentation Stay current on developments in immigration law, particularly at the intersection with criminal law Apply creative thinking and strategic problem-solving to complex legal issues Please Note:
