The Ad Platforms organization builds and maintains a high-performance, microservice-based advertising platform across Disney properties. The Ad Platform Decisioning and Machine Learning Platform team focuses on enhancing advertising with machine learning and AI, delivering solutions for prediction and optimization engines for Disneys addressable ad platforms. We seek a Lead Software Engineer experienced in machine learning and backend services to join our team. WHAT YOULL DO

Lead the development of machine learning components to improve advertising aspects such as inventory forecasting, ad experience, pacing, pricing, targeting, and delivery. Build next-generation AI-based solutions for complex advertising challenges. Develop scalable data analysis and model development approaches. Collaborate with researchers to scale innovative solutions. Design for performance, scalability, reusability, and flexibility. Promote best engineering practices including design patterns, CI/CD, code reviews, and testing. Work with researchers, product managers, and other stakeholders in an open environment. Mentor team members professional and technical growth. WHAT TO BRING

Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field. 7+ years of experience in programming and design with Java, Python, Scala, etc. Strong experience with ML technologies like TensorFlow, Kubeflow, PyTorch, Databricks, AWS SageMaker, etc. Experience building high-availability, scalable microservices. Experience with big data processing technologies. Deep understanding of system and application design. Passion for understanding the ad business and innovating within it. Enthusiasm for technology and interdisciplinary collaboration. Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, data-driven environments. NICE-TO-HAVES

Knowledge of advertising domain. Experience with GenAI, LLMs, feature store, audience segmentation, and MLOps. The salary range varies by location: in Los Angeles, CA ($152,000 - $204,100), Seattle, WA ($159,500 - $213,900), and San Francisco, CA ($166,800 - $223,600).
