Nestled beside a 400-acre protected forest, our campus offers a rich environment for young children to learn through connection with the natural world. Our preschool program emphasizes nurturing relationships, outdoor learning, and the development of foundational skills in a joyful, play-based setting.
Duties
We are seeking a warm, energetic, and dedicated
Pre-K Teacher
to join our early childhood team for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position involves leading a group of 3–4-year-olds in a setting that emphasizes child-led exploration, social development, and hands-on learning both indoors and outdoors. Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that foster growth across all learning domains Foster children’s social-emotional development with kindness, patience, and consistency Cultivate a classroom environment that is welcoming and inclusive to all Spend significant time outdoors in all seasons, guiding nature-based activities and exploration Maintain clear and respectful communication with families and colleagues Contribute to school-wide events and collaborate appropriately with other members of the Neighborhood Schoolhouse team
Requirements
Qualifications: As stated in the Vermont Child Development Division Regulations: A teacher is at least twenty (20) years of age and meets one of the following qualifications: • At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four (4) A or B Certificate; or • At least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, Special Education with a birth to eight (8) years of age focus, or Child and Family Services and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or 97 • At least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with at least successful completion of thirty (30) college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
