Consulting Associate, Air Quality
to join our consulting team in our
Indianapolis, Indiana office.
The successful candidate will work on various technical projects for clients in the technology, energy, and manufacturing sectors throughout the Midwest. This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with experts on challenging environmental management projects for large industrial and global clients. Access to ERM's national Air Quality & Climate Change experts provides knowledge sharing and ongoing learning opportunities. ERM’s Air Quality & Climate Change team pursues innovative engagements, offering comprehensive air quality and climate change services. With annual global sales exceeding $50 million, this service area is one of the largest in the industry and is growing rapidly. In North America, ERM has over 300 professionals assisting with projects such as facility permitting, supporting Low Carbon Economy Transition issues, and navigating complex permitting programs like NSR. Responsibilities include: Conducting air quality analyses, assessing regulatory compliance, and evaluating applicability. Developing permit applications for Title V, PSD, and NSR, and interacting with regulators. Preparing emission inventories, quantifying emissions, and completing TRI reporting. Evaluating air pollution control technologies and their feasibility. Implementing climate change projects, including GHG inventories and emission reductions. Assisting with MACT compliance programs. Implementing environmental management systems and preparing reports. Performing compliance audits and follow-up actions. Managing multiple tasks within scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring quality. Maintaining successful client and team relationships. Requirements include: BSc in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related field; MSc preferred. Equivalent experience considered. Up to 2+ years of consulting or industry experience, especially in permitting processes. Understanding of air emissions and reporting processes. Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases. Excellent communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed.
