The Process Engineer will support manufacturing operations by improving processes, enhancing safety, and driving efficiency. This role focuses on troubleshooting issues, reducing waste, and implementing cost-effective solutions while supporting automation and vision system initiatives. Job Duties:
Prioritize safety while supporting production and implementing process improvements. Troubleshoot process, quality, and efficiency issues; develop and sustain corrective actions. Train operators on new equipment, modifications, and updated procedures. Maintain standard operating conditions to ensure consistent performance. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges. Design, program, and test machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, etc.) for automation and quality assurance. Provide technical support during equipment commissioning and ramp-up. Develop documentation, SOPs, training materials, and maintenance resources. Mentor engineering co-op students as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial) with 3–5 years of experience. 3+ years of machine vision system experience; 2+ years with automation technologies (pneumatics, conveyors, sensors, robotics, AMRs, HMIs, PLCs). Experience with Allen Bradley or Beckhoff PLCs preferred. Strong troubleshooting and process improvement skills. Knowledge of flexible packaging processes (blown film, metallization, printing, laminating, slitting/winding) preferred.
