Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
CAD/CAM Drafter . The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and CAM toolpaths for CNC routing and machining operations. This role requires a combination of design knowledge, manufacturing insight, and strong computer-aided drafting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities: Develop 2D and 3D CAD models and CAM toolpaths using
Aspire
software. Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications for CNC machining and routing. Translate customer concepts or sketches into production-ready CAD/CAM files. Collaborate with design, production, and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability. Optimize toolpaths for speed, efficiency, and material usage. Troubleshoot and revise existing CAD/CAM files as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and organized file management. Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices. Assist in machine setup or programming as needed.
Required Qualifications: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar). Understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materials. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with other CAM software and CNC machines (routers, mills, etc.). Background in woodworking, signage, or custom fabrication is a plus. Familiarity with G-code and CNC controller interfaces. Associate degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Working Conditions: Office and shop floor environment. Occasional exposure to noise and dust in production areas. Standard work hours with occasional overtime depending on project timelines.
