Staff Applications Engineer; Power Products
The Industrial Power Systems team is seeking a motivated, experienced applications engineer to provide support to our IPS team located at ADI’s Colorado Springs, CO campus. The ideal candidate will support development of switched-mode power supply IC’s, design and test evaluation board circuits, and provide customer support for end use applications. New team members have a chance to grow an emerging team at this location and build a strong power applications group with great career potential. This position can include the role of mentoring one or more entry-level applications engineers as a local supervisor within
the multi-located IPS applications team.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Develop deep DC-DC power conversion experience GaN FET driver and controller application development Collaborate with IC design team on part development Design and test evaluation boards for customer use Work with Field Application Engineers to solve customer challenges Write technical articles for internal and industry publications Synthesis of formulas and models for circuit behavior Assume leadership and mentoring role within CO Springs applications team Specifying and qualifying new lab equipment purchases for team
Minimum Qualifications
Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) 10 years applications or systems engineering experience with DC-to-DC converters Ability to boost team analytical skills Good communication and technical presentation skills Strong organization, team leadership, and work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
LTSpice simulation experience GaN FET technology experience Soldering/board level debugging skills Experience using electronic lab test equipment Deep understanding of linear control system theory Modeling of switch-mode power conversion and dynamics

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $118,988 to $178,481.
Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors. This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.
