Full-Time Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced

Project Manager

with a strong background in

civil earthwork and mass grading

to lead and execute high-impact dirt projects across the Western U.S. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly skilled in HCSS (HeavyBid, HeavyJob), and has a proven ability to manage field teams, budgets, schedules, and subcontractors on large-scale excavation and site prep projects. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety in dirt-centered civil scopes. Key Responsibilities: Lead all phases of civil earthwork projects including mass grading, over-excavation, soil remediation, site prep, and utility coordination.

Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, production goals, and cost tracking using HCSS, Procore, and Excel-based tools.

Oversee field crews and foremen to ensure adherence to specs, production targets, and safety standards.

Coordinate with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain project alignment.

Analyze daily job costs, schedule progress, and field reports to proactively adjust resources and timelines.

Provide accurate forecasts, change order tracking, and schedule updates to internal teams and clients.

Attend job walks, pre-construction meetings, and project closeouts; maintain detailed project documentation throughout.

Enforce quality control measures and strict adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent field experience).

3–5 years of project management experience in civil construction, with a strong focus on

earthwork and grading .

Proficiency in

HCSS (HeavyBid, HeavyJob)

required; familiarity with

Procore, MS Project, and Bluebeam

preferred.

Solid understanding of soil types, equipment planning, and productivity rates related to excavation, backfill, and compaction.

Ability to read and interpret civil plans, grading sheets, and geotechnical reports.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Willingness to travel to job sites as needed (primarily Western U.S.).
