Local Truck Driver Position
This is a local truck driver position out of the greater Atlanta area. The driver is responsible for safely operating a truck and trailer, efficiently delivering construction equipment and materials to job sites. Responsibilities
This is a semi-local heavy haul truck driver position out of the greater Atlanta area. The driver is responsible for safely operating a truck and specialized trailers, efficiently delivering construction equipment and materials to Martin Concrete Construction job sites and third-party customers. In addition to these responsibilities, the driver must adhere to the following items below: Conduct pre and post trips daily to assure oil and fluid levels are at proper level, tire pressure checks, greasing, lights, in date inspections, etc. Clean and maintain the truck as needed to prevent build up and assure proper operation. Assist in loading equipment including driving equipment or lifting materials. Ensure all equipment and materials are properly secured. Ensure equipment is delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner. Communicate with superintendents, foreman, or mechanics prior to/ during each pickup and delivery. Deliver any information regarding equipment damages or mechanical issues to dispatch and mechanics. Participate in monthly mandatory safety meetings. Willingness to lay out in a hotel on occasion when needed. Keep track of electronic logbooks and remain in DOT HOS compliance. Assist with truck maintenance and cleaning on days that are slow. Ensure all safety procedures are properly followed, and PPE is worn at all times when on a jobsite. Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including weight limits, route restrictions, and permits. Properly secure cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques to prevent shifting or damage during transport. Ensure BOL, PODs, and paysheets are properly filled out each day. Willingness to lay out in a hotel 1-2 times a week, as well as work occasional weekends. Obtain Forklift, boom lift, and load securement certifications through Finish Safe. Safely operate a Landoll and Lowboy trailer. Safely and efficiently transport heavy and oversized cargo to designated locations. This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager. Minimum Requirements
Holds a Commercial Driver's License Class A. Holds no serious traffic violations within the last 3 years. Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings. Ability to complete DOT physicals as required by state. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, road signs, and operation and maintenance instructions. Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 100 pounds. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance. Strong knowledge of heavy haul equipment, load securement techniques, and transportation regulations. Benefits
