Job Description: Water Damage TechnicianPosition Summary:The Apprentice Water Damage Technician is a hands-on, entry-level position that assists with a variety of water damage restoration services. This role is designed to provide comprehensive training in the water damage restoration process, from initial emergency response to final cleanup and documentation. The Apprentice will work directly under the guidance of a senior technician, learning the necessary skills to perform tasks safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a reliable, eager-to-learn individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to helping others.Key Responsibilities:Emergency Response Assistance: Assist senior technicians in responding promptly to emergency calls for water damage.Damage Assessment: Learn to identify the scope of work and necessary equipment by assisting with initial property assessments.Water Damage Restoration: Aid in water extraction, demolition of damaged materials, and the setup and monitoring of drying and dehumidification equipment.Equipment Operation: Learn to safely operate and maintain specialized restoration equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and moisture meters.Documentation: Accurately document all aspects of the restoration process under the guidance of a senior technician, including work performed, equipment used, and moisture readings.Customer Service: Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with property owners and providing project updates.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of materials.Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members to complete projects to the highest standards.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: No previous experience is required; we will provide all necessary training.Certifications: IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) certifications (e.g., WRT, ASD) are a plus, but not required.Technical Skills:A willingness to learn and apply restoration techniques and safety protocols.Ability to follow detailed instructions and work orders.Basic knowledge of hand tools and a mechanical aptitude is a plus.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials (50+ lbs).Comfortable working in confined spaces and various weather conditions.Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods.Soft Skills:Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.A positive attitude and a passion for learning.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Additional Requirements:Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.Ability to be on-call and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, for emergency situations.Successful completion of a background check and drug screening. recblid 5hni646alyrza3dvvjs8ulnpanqti1
