Locum Family Medicine Medical Director MD/DO near Cordova, AK
Top Hourly + All expenses covered - Important: housing provided and each provider has their own sleeping arrangements but shared common area, and will not need a rental car due to the size of the village. Lodging is NOT pet friendly! Village is about 600 people.
Credentialing: About 4 weeks, due to insurance enrollments (Medicare, Blue Cross, etc.) but they can expediate credentialing in about 2-3 weeks, as long as the provider is also responsive and works quickly.
Start: ASAP - September 8 or 15
End: March 2026
LOA: Ideally seeking 6 months
Client is looking for flexible schedule ideal schedule is working either one month on/off or two weeks on/off for an ongoing assignment
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8-5 PM + NO call required (no village travel)
Client is looking for flexible schedule ideal schedule is working either one month on/off or two weeks on/off for an ongoing assignment
MD/DO will be onsite, but then required to work 30 hours remotely on their off weeks
Only providers do call, but the Med Director needs to be flexible and familiar with if they are needed at all
Patient Volume: 8-10 patients a day TOTAL their providers all have rotating schedules and it s low volume, but they need providers who can see anything that comes through the door, including trauma (3k-4k patients/year) only 600 people in the village
Procedures:
Day-to-day details provided by the client below:
Serve as Medicine Director, consultant, and trainer for staff
Serve as a collaborating physician for physician assistants
Serve as physician oversight for HRSA Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance
Conduct medical training on site for the medical staff on an as needed basis (ideally at least once per quarter)
Perform quarterly chart review for physician assistants in accordance with accepted standards of practice
Be available for collaboration/consultations as needed by physician assistants, other oversight as required by the state of Alaska medical Board
Attend (virtually or in-person) quarterly Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance (QI/QA) meetings. YCHC will do it s best to plan these meeting with as much advance notice as possible to accommodate Provider s availability. Approve meeting minutes, QI/QA processes and procedures
Sign necessary documentation within time deadlines to satisfy HRSA rules and regulations
Coordinate all clinical oversight work to be performed in advance with the Executive Health Director, as well as coordinate all QI/QA oversight

License: AK
Certifications: DEA, BLS/ACLS, ATLS and ER/Trauma experience REQUIRED

RN and MA s on staff including with EMT s and Paramedic
Needs to be comfortable seeing all ages
