Job Summary A senior-level position for a high-energy person who has 5+ years of experience working in an automotive repair environment and is A.S.E. Certified in Brakes, Steering, and Suspension.
Responsibilities Works as a lead technician in a team environment to ensure smooth shop operation inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles. Is able to train and coach technicians and use/operate specialized brake, alignment, and exhaust equipment. The duties and responsibilities of this position also include equipment maintenance, inventory management, and housekeeping. Education & Certification High School Diploma or GED
required. ASE Master Technician Certification
mandatory, with specializations in areas such as Engine Repair, Automatic Transmissions, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Brakes,
Electrical/Electronic
Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance. Vocational Training or Associate Degree
in Automotive Technology preferred. Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience
preferred as an automotive technician with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems. Proven experience with both
domestic and foreign vehicles . Experience in
leadership or supervisory roles
within an automotive service environment is highly desirable. Skills & Knowledge Advanced diagnostic skills
with proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Comprehensive knowledge
of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and electrical systems. Strong mechanical aptitude
with the ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance. Proficiency in reading and interpreting
technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Familiarity with automotive software
and computerized diagnostic systems. Knowledge of safety protocols
and procedures in an automotive repair environment. Physical & Technical Requirements Physical stamina
to perform tasks requiring bending, standing, and lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) for extended periods. Ability to work in
various environmental conditions , including heat, cold, and exposure to automotive chemicals. Manual dexterity
and fine motor skills to work on intricate components. Valid drivers license Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving skills
with attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent communication skills
to effectively interact with customers and team members. Customer-oriented mindset
with a focus on delivering high-quality service. Ability to work independently
and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Continuous learning mindset
to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques. Preferred Qualifications EPA 609 Certification
for handling refrigerants is a plus. Hybrid and electric vehicle certifications
are highly desirable.
