Job Description
Summary: This role is dedicated to supporting students with special needs in achieving their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The ideal candidate is a certified educator with experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting curricula to diverse learning needs. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by ensuring students access high-quality instruction, individualized support, and a safe, inclusive learning environment. What You’ll Do: Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with students, families, and the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee. Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom activities to meet the needs of students with varying abilities. Conduct assessments to determine student learning styles and monitor progress through ongoing evaluation. Support student development through effective instructional methods, therapeutic interventions, and appropriate use of technology. Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and resource professionals to ensure successful student inclusion and support. Manage classroom behavior, intervene in crisis situations, and administer discipline in accordance with IEPs and district policy. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required by state and district guidelines. Experience You’ll Need: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements. Familiarity with ARD Committee processes and IEP goal
setting/implementation. Knowledge of curriculum adaptation, instructional modification, and behavioral management for special education students. Experience from student teaching, internship, or comparable professional role. Strong communication skills for collaboration with parents, students, and staff.
