*US Citizenship Required *Onsite Position aboard research vessels in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean *Proposal Effort, Position is Subject to Contract Award POSITION DESCRIPTION: Think Tank is seeking a
Seasonal Sea-Going Technician Level I
to assist NOAA with annual fishery-independent monitoring surveys in the
Northwest Atlantic Ocean . These positions focus on
field sampling and data collection at sea -no land-based support between trips is required. RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in
5–140 days at sea annually , standing up to
12-hour watches . Assist with
sorting, identifying, measuring, dissecting, and sampling
fish and invertebrates, including age, growth, maturity, genetics, and diet studies. Collect and annotate
optical survey data
(image review, species ID, organism measurements). Maintain scientific protocols to ensure high-quality data collection. Support
general shipboard sampling activities, organization, and clean-up . REQUIREMENTS: Experience identifying fish and invertebrate species in the
Northwest Atlantic Ocean . Experience working aboard research vessels. Familiarity with bottom trawls and/or scallop and clam dredges. Ability to work
12-hour shifts at sea . Strong teamwork skills with the ability to also work independently.
