Education & Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Any professional certifications are a plus (CSP, CIH, ASP, OSHA, ISO Lead Auditor).
Experience
- At least 5+ years in a manufacturing environment managing HSE programs.
- Proven record of leading audits, incident investigations, and compliance programs .
- Experience with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, state/local authorities).
- Supervisory/leadership background – ability to mentor, train, and manage teams.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001 (or ISO 45001).
- Risk assessment, hazard analysis, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, loss prevention.
- Waste management, chemical safety, environmental permitting.
- Emergency preparedness planning & security systems management.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication and training skills (must present to leadership and workers).
- Problem-solving & analytical ability (data-driven decisions, safety trends).
- Ability to influence others and build a safety-first culture .
- Time management & prioritization – juggling compliance, training, and audits.
- Skilled in MS Office & reporting tools .
Soft Skills & Leadership
- Conflict resolution and tact when dealing with sensitive matters.
- Coaching and mentoring safety representatives.
- Promoting a “zero incident” safety culture .
- Strong decision-making under pressure.
Other Must-Haves
- Willingness to travel between sites.
- Comfortable working in industrial/manufacturing conditions (noise, PPE, exposure).
- Demonstrated involvement in ESG / sustainability reporting (Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions) is a plus.
