Position Overview:
The Senior HR Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of the HumanResources department. This position assists with a wide range of HR functions,including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration,HRIS maintenance, and compliance. The role serves as a key resource foremployees and management, ensuring that HR policies and procedures areimplemented effectively and consistently.
Role and Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinatejob postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and communicationwith applicants.
  • Assisthiring managers throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a smooth andefficient experience.
  • Prepareand send offer letters, background checks, and onboarding documentation.
  • Facilitatenew hire orientation and support onboarding activities.
  • Employee Support &Relations
  • Serveas the first point of contact for HR-related questions from employees.
  • Provideguidance on policies, procedures, and HR tools or systems.
  • Escalateemployee concerns appropriately while maintaining confidentiality andprofessionalism.
  • Helpsupport a positive workplace culture and employee engagement efforts.
  • HRIS & Records Management
  • Maintainaccurate employee data in the HR Information System (HRIS) and otherdatabases.
  • Ensuretimely updates for new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes incompensation or status.
  • Fileand maintain confidential personnel records in compliance with legalrequirements.
  • Benefits & Payroll Support
  • Assistwith benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries related to health,dental, vision, life insurance, and other programs.
  • Supportannual open enrollment processes.
  • Partnerwith payroll to ensure accurate processing of timekeeping, lunch premiums,deductions, and other payroll-impacting changes.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • EnsureHR practices are compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assistwith audits, employee file reviews, and mandatory reporting.
  • Supportworkplace safety and leave administration (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
  • Projects & General Support
  • Participatein HR initiatives such as performance review cycles, engagement surveys,training programs, and DEI efforts.
  • Assistin planning and executing employee events, recognition programs, and otherHR-led activities.
  • Continuouslyidentify and recommend process improvements.
  • Otherprojects as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelorsdegree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldpreferred.
  • 3to 5 years of experience in a generalist or coordinator-level HR role.
  • PHR,SHRM-CP, or similar certification a plus.
  • FinancialServices experience a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledgeof California HR principles and employment law.
  • Stronginterpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highlevel of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strongorganizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Abilityto prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday,BambooHR, Cornerstone) and MS Office Suite.
