The Environmental Technician (Water Production Technician) is responsible for the operation of the most critical function of our manufacturing facility – the zero liquid discharge wastewater treatment & recovery system. Without this system, GreenSource would not be capable of manufacturing printed circuits boards (PCBs). This position involves processing waste generated from the manufacturing of printed circuit boards through the wastewater treatment and water recovery systems in order to generate process water to be re-used in the manufacturing processes. Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate systems within specifications for the zero liquid discharge wastewater treatment & recovery system (Carbon Filtration, Ion Exchange, Reverse Osmosis filtration, Evaporators, etc). Perform system quality checks and preventative maintenance. Perform calibrations on various system sensors (e.g. pH, conductivity) Dump, scrape, and clean filter presses. Process & dump waste at various stages of the waste treatment process. Clean and cut up empty drums, palletizing the plastic pieces for disposal or recycle. Clean and dispose of used process filters from production. Ensure all waste containers are properly labeled, sealed and stored. Perform other related duties as required to maintain the cleanliness of the facility. Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear. Adheres to environmental, health & safety standards at all times. Regular attendance is an essential job functions of this position. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Strong team orientation. Motivated, results oriented, customer focused, with a high commitment to quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to learn new technology. Good oral and written communication skills. Creative thinking with sound problem solving and decision-making. Be a team player and must work well with others. Receptive to learning new skills and able to cross train in other departments. Education & Experience:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent w/1+ years’ experience or Technical School w/0-6 months’ experience. Minimum 1 year of manufacturing work experience preferred. Must have hands-on / mechanical aptitude / trade. Physical demands & Abilities:
Able to work 8 hour shifts plus overtime when needed. Able to lift up to 44 pounds/20kg. Able to bend, lean, sit and/or stand for entire shift. High level of manual dexterity. Ability to operate factory machines and use software to run computer-operated machinery.
