Job Description
Taunton Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced mortgage originator to assist us in developing new business and maintaining existing consumer, business, and vendor relationships. This position will generate a pipeline for the Credit Union, developing relationships with a network of professional contacts and potential borrowers in the charter area. This position is responsible for communication with applicants throughout the process and tracking the underwriting, approval, and closing of residential first mortgage loans.
Essential Functions:
- Actively source new business by taking and reviewing applications for mortgage loans. - Attend and participate in meetings and committees, and represent the Credit Union at professional and networking events. - Analyze applicant financial conditions while facilitate underwriting decisioning through communication with stakeholders. - Complete completion of all loan documentation, ensuring complete and accurate information. - Stay informed of lending trends, market conditions, and other factors to best serve members' needs. - Participate in developing lending and deposit business for the Credit Union by creating a member experience that serves members needs. - All Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) are required to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Personal
Characteristics:
- High energy level, good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. - Excellent communication skills. - Previous Mortgage Origination experience required - Financial Services experience including lending. - Knowledge of all mortgage lending products. A general knowledge of other credit union services. - Flexibility in working irregular hours and ability to travel. - a strong network of contacts in order to generate business - knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Physical General requirements: Continuous: Hearing, talking, sitting, standing,, reaching with hands and arms Frequent: Standing, use hands and fingers to handle or feel Occasional: Reaching with hands and arms, stooping and crouching
