JOB SUMMARY: This person will work with the SVP/Sr. Residential Lending Officer to build and develop a loan portfolio for the Bank. They will be responsible for leading a team of mortgage loan officers, overseeing all aspects of the sales process, developing sales strategies, motivating their team to achieve sales targets, and ensuring compliance with regulations to maximize profitable mortgage loan origination This position will have extensive contact with Customers, Realtors and Attorneys throughout the loan process, requiring a competent, courteous, and professional manner. A sound working knowledge of all aspects of residential and consumer lending, departmental policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and technical computer skills are essential. This position reports to the SVP/Sr. Residential Lending Officer. DUTIES: Supervise the Loan Officers with their daily responsibilities including underwriting, loan approvals, compliance guidance timecards, HMDA, completing reviews and updating job descriptions, as necessary. Responsible for Setting sales goals and quotas for the team, monitoring progress, and holding team members accountable for achieving targets. Responsible for coaching and mentoring sales team members to improve their performance and sales skills. Responsible for Building relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral partners to source new mortgage loan opportunities. Responsible for originating and underwriting residential mortgages and equity lines/loans through efforts that are in conformity with the Bank's policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with State and Federal lending regulations. Keep up to date on lending statutes and current related issues. Responsible for having a sound knowledge of up-to-date market trends and industry regulations to make informed sales decisions. Gather and review various documents and other information necessary in the underwriting and approval or denial of loan transactions. Responsible for overseeing the processing and completeness of the underwriting and documentation required for loan approval under secondary market guidelines. Responsible for approving mortgages and Equity Lines/Loans within approved lending authorities. Responsible for a sound working knowledge of
residential/consumer
lending policies and regulations to aid and backup to the SVP/Sr. Residential Lending Officer. Responsible for updating annually the assigned Loan Department’s policies as required by the SVP/ Sr. Residential Lending Officer. Represent the Bank at Realtor functions; home shows; home buyer seminars; Bank sponsored events and other related activities. Responsible for ensuring Secondary Market loans are sold and delivered within established guidelines to maximize income. Responsible for keeping Office Managers up to date on procedural and compliance changes within the department Present Loans for approval to the EBOD or BOD when applicable. Serve as backup to the SVP/ Sr. Residential Lending Officer for meetings and other tasks as assigned. Share in all departmental duties as well as perform other duties as required or requested by the SVP/Sr. Residential Lending Officer. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Proven work experience as a Mortgage Sales Manager or similar role in Sales. Demonstrated track record of meeting/exceeding goals as a sales Manager. Strong understanding of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficiency in mortgage software systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant field
