Role details:
The performer will be scheduled on an as-needed basis and must be available on-call for Iowa Wolves home games, community events, and other appearances as assigned. Flexibility, reliability, and professionalism are essential, as performance dates may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What would you do? Perform as Alpha, the official mascot of the Iowa Wolves, delivering high-energy, engaging, and professional entertainment during all assigned home games and community appearances. Execute all aspects of the performance according to a pre-determined run of show, collaborating with game presentation staff to ensure a seamless experience. Maintain the Alpha costume and all related props, ensuring they are clean, safe, and event-ready always. Represent the Iowa Wolves brand positively and enthusiastically at all appearances, both in-arena and at external events. Perform other duties related to the mascot program as assigned. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Salary:
Rehearsal: $16/hour Game Nights: $22/hour Appearances and Events: $50/hour
Work Environment
Work is generally sedentary in nature. The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work is generally performed within a professional sports arena, which include bleachers/steps.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will occasionally ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff will frequently move boxes and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
