ELECTRICAL ENGINEER POSITION FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS - LOCATION: LOS ANGELES, CA

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited university is required.
• Minimum 3 years experience required in design and/or field support. More experience is highly preferred as candidate would be working as the only electrical engineer on the main team and would have to troubleshoot issues with plant electricians.
• Previous treatment plant (and/or other plant environment) experience is not required but is highly preferred as candidate would be helping to update existing electrical plans/matching as-builts with field conditions, planning projects to maintain longevity, responding to and reviewing electrical related RFIs and submittals on ongoing construction projects.

Job Description:

• Leads and directs the planning, verification, and research of electrical design modifications for various electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and facilities situated at two Wastewater Treatment Plants in Los Angeles.
• This position does not require the candidate to perform design and/or stamp plans.
• Provides comprehensive professional electrical engineering support, encompassing power monitoring systems, energy efficiency and conservation programs, in-depth electrical feasibility studies, thorough electrical preventive maintenance programs (including critical review and authorship of procedures), detailed arc flash and relay coordination studies, and robust control systems for both mechanical and electrical installations.
• Offers crucial technical support in the conceptualization and design of
• cutting-edge Advanced Water Purification Facilities (AWPF) and a diverse range of other forthcoming Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for wastewater plants.
• Actively collaborates with sub-professional staff, including highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Electricians and Instrument Mechanics, on essential electrical and/or instrumentation inspection, intricate troubleshooting, precise repair, and rigorous testing of Plant process or facility equipment.
• Prepares and meticulously reviews detailed electrical engineering reports, and expertly conducts and reviews complex relay coordination and integration studies to ensure optimal system performance.
• Spearheads investigations and in-depth analyses of electrical failures, diligently reviews power billing discrepancies, and expertly manages a wide array of other electrical or instrumentation-related matters that arise.
• Develops compelling presentation materials and effectively presents findings and/or recommendations concerning electrical or instrumentation failures, proposed improvements, and necessary modifications to Plant Operators and/or Management, facilitating informed decision-making
