Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking a qualified Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney with 2+ years of experience to join its Baltimore, MD office. This position requires a candidate with a variety of litigation experience, particularly in the defense of personal injury, property damage claims, and other areas of insurance defense. The firm offers a flexible work environment with hybrid work options, and personal laptops are provided for attorneys. The successful candidate will be expected to commute to the office 3 days per week after an initial training period. Location: Duties: Handle a high volume of insurance defense litigation cases, including personal injury, products liability, construction litigation, toxic torts defense, premises liability, and transportation law. Research complex legal issues and draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery documents in a timely manner. Attend court appearances, client meetings, and depositions. Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and guidance. Work closely with other attorneys and support staff to manage cases. Meet deadlines, multitask, and ensure case files are organized and well-documented. Requirements: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in Maryland. Admission to practice law in other jurisdictions such as DC, PA, or VA is a plus. 2+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation. 4-8 years of experience is preferred. Strong academic credentials, excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently. Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated. Experience in complex general liability, professional liability, construction litigation, property damage claims, and the defense of personal injury claims is a plus. Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications: Admission to practice law in Maryland is required. Additional admission to practice in DC, VA, or PA is a plus. Skills: Expertise in insurance defense litigation and related areas. Ability to handle a high volume of cases and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct legal research and draft a variety of legal documents. Experience with client communication and court appearances. Organizational skills and attention to detail.
