Primary Function:
Under the direction of the School Principal, or other assigned manager, the driver is responsible for providing transportation for Bishop John J. Snyder High School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support the schools spiritual and pastoral mission Comply with safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment. Ensure Pre-and Post-trip vehicle safety inspection are conducted. Have a willingness and ability to work with teenagers. Drive the van on the assigned route; recommend extension of routes or changes in schedule to provide safe service to students. Provide transportation of students in a safe manner. Report maintenance required for the van Fuel van when needed. Instruct students on bus safety and discipline. Manage student discipline; contact school administration regarding disciplinary referrals. Refer parent complaints or discipline problems to Director of Transportation, Mary Anne Briggs. Maintain a clean vehicle. Maintain a daily log of student riders Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: Must have good communications skills. Must meet diocesan requirements on Motor Vehicle Reports and safe environment regulations. Must have good interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity; normal mental and visual ability
