JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Specialist III provides overall administrative duties of the Center office, such as correspondence, calls from the public, customer service, purchase orders, invoicing, vending, petty cash, assist and direct part-time employees and maintain employee schedules. This individual must be able to perform multiple tasks with continuous interruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license or higher. Ability to obtain relevant certifications. Must comply with City of Conroe direct deposit payroll policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in current computer software (ex. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
Knowledge in answering multi-line telephones, typing and basic clerical duties.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with little or no supervision and make decisions independently.
Excellent customer service skills to work with public, employees, supervisors, vendors, City administration and elected officials.
Understand and enforce the City of Conroe and departmental policies and procedures.
Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Knowledge in accounting for tracking expenditures, cash flow and invoicing; must have cash handling experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Some exposure to the elements may be required.
