Responsibilities
Manage programs that address food insecurity, nutrition education, and cooking. Maintain food inventory, manage budget, monthly statistics, and menu creation for Kroc Center programs involving food. Oversee Kroc Center kitchen (all appliances, safety signs, and all cleaning and cooking materials). Greet and engage guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and have a positive experience. Develop and maintain Kroc Center food initiatives that address community and guest needs. Collaborate with food banks and oversee onsite food pantry and storages. Research and pursue grant opportunities in collaboration with Corps Officers. Provide food preparation and service for Kroc Center programs, events, and rentals. Drive, pick-up, sort, store, and distribute food donations. Maintain cleanliness of the facility and conduct all mandatory safety checks. Ensure that events, programs, and activities start, transition, and end on time. Train team members and volunteers in food safety protocols and kitchen usage. Attend community meetings related to food insecurity programs. Assist Kroc Center team with accurate work order and incident reports. Prepare for weekend kitchen use and perform cleaning tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Excellent customer service skills in person, over the phone, and digitally. Ability to lead and train team members and volunteers in food service and safety protocols. Proficient in computer use, typing, and learning new software. Proactive, organized, detail-oriented, with good judgment, speed, accuracy, and poise. Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and able to manage a self-directed schedule. Bilingual in Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese/Mandarin, or Vietnamese (preferred). Complete Salvation Army training and maintain current certification. Hold a valid driver’s license, pass MVR and driver’s test. Maintain CA Food Manager’s certification. Physical Requirements
