$139,000.00/yr - $167,000.00/yr We are looking for talented professional to be a part of a dynamic team. The Grounds Operations Manager directs and supervises the operational and personnel activities of the Grounds Department on a private estate. This position oversees landscape maintenance and construction, irrigation systems, pest and disease control, equipment upkeep, inclement weather response. In addition, the manager leads staff planning, organizing, and training. This role also ensures all ground employees are equipped with the training and knowledge necessary to operate tools and equipment safely and effectively. Manager Staff and Operations (75%) Supervise, train and mentor supervisors and staff Delegate tasks to ensure maximum productivity Administrative Support (25%) Research and order necessary items Manage timekeeping, budgeting policies, and procedures Responsibilities & Duties Plan, direct, manage, and lead grounds department operations to maintain a safe and attractive landscape, including assigning, training and evaluating work for grounds areas. Ensure meticulous upkeep of grounds surrounding private residences, including gardens, driveways, and curated landscape areas, with attention to detail and owner expectations Lead emergency response planning and clean-up related to storms, flooding, drought, or fire threats affecting the grounds and infrastructure Collaborate with agriculture and livestock teams to ensure access roads, fencing, pastures, and shared-use areas are maintained to operational standards and safety Coordinate special projects or landscape enhancements Develop and implement ongoing training programs to ensure all grounds employees are properly trained in the safe and effective use of landscape equipment, tools and vehicles including mowers, trimmers, tractors, and heavy equipment. Develop and implement Feed Management program in a timely manner Manage the Farm animal program, ensure adequate staffing Ensure compliance with applicable rules, laws and policies including those related to hazardous materials handling and communication Assess, implement, and evaluate cultural practices for turf and tree care, irrigation, and Integrated Pest Management Coordinate the requisitioning and purchasing of supplies and equipment Research and test new products and materials Promote a strong culture of safety and accountability across all grounds crew Job Skills & Qualifications 5+ years related experience in landscape maintenance and pest management 3 years in a supervisory role Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles and methods Knowledge of irrigation systems maintenance Knowledge of safety practices and horticulture Ability to problem solve and decision making Effective communication Working knowledge of equipment operation Train staff in equipment operation and basic maintenance Computer proficiency (G-Suite, ADP) Must have valid driver license Physical Demands & Work Conditions Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and wind Frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl across uneven terrain Regularly lift, move, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently; occasionally heavier loads with assistance Ability to safely operate ground equipment and vehicles (e.g. UTV, tractors, mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, etc.) May be exposed to dust, fertilizers, herbicides and other substances associated with landscaping and pest control Must be available to respond to weather-related or emergency cleanup needs outside of regular work hours Work may involve working near slopes or water, and navigating active agriculture or livestock areas Trustworthiness and Integrity:
