The Role
City Cast Seattle is seeking individuals who are passionate about their city, and have a few areas of expertise they can talk about on mic in a smart, funny, entertaining way, to be correspondents for City Cast Seattle. We’ll be hiring 3-6 individuals for this part-time contract assignment and we’re looking for a wide variety of voices. If you know a lot (and love to talk) about topics such as local transportation, politics, food, parenting, culture, parks, or a particular neighborhood – we want to hear from you! Correspondents will be regular guests on the City Cast Seattle podcast and across our daily social and newsletter products. What You’ll Do
Join the City Cast Seattle host and team members regularly for conversations about topics or news items Do light preparation and research for podcast episodes Contribute story and topic ideas for podcast episodes Serve as an ambassador for the City Cast Seattle brand, helping represent City Cast publicly Occasionally contribute to or be featured on City Cast Seattle social and newsletter content Engage positively with the brand’s audience, members and fans What You Bring
A deep passion for Seattle and an appreciation for and understanding of its complexity The ability to talk in a compelling and relatable way about topics of great interest to locals Charisma, humor, genuine interest, composure, collegiality and expertise or experience The Contributor/Correspondent, Seattle will report to the Executive Producer, Seattle. This position is part-time on contract. The rate is $100 per episode for the first three episodes, after which it will transition to a retainer fee. You must be local, though work will be primarily remote.
