Job Description
System Canada: USA The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for leading the software quality assurance effort to achieve the highest quality testing of our analytical products and services, with emphasis on automated testing. This includes developing, promoting and maintaining best practices for testing processes to ensure early detection of software bugs in all phases of the project/development lifecycle. The Director of Quality Assurance will identify new, progressive and effective software testing techniques and strategies, as well as bring passion, focus and urgency to making the QA function best in class. Key Responsibilities: Oversee quality assurance strategies, methodologies and metrics collection, with a heavy emphasis on automation Drive and refine software quality assurance best practices to enhance testing capabilities, with a heavy emphasis on automation Identify process gaps, champion and lead initiatives to strengthen overall product quality with a heavy emphasis on automation Manage internal quality assurance automation team and design automation scripts to test analytical products and services, including risk-based test cases Analyze results from executed automation scripts and escalate problems to product development management group Provide weekly automation dashboard report to product development management group Collaborate with QA Manager (responsible for manual testing) and review manual test cases for possible inclusion into automation scripts Review bugs found by quality assurance automation and work with QA Manager to determine priorities for fixes Proactively engage with planning, design and development teams to promote prevention of defects early in project/development lifecycles Perform other duties as they arise Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in physical science, mathematics, engineering or economics 8+ years of work experience with software quality assurance 5+ years of experience leading a team of software quality professionals 5+ years of experience with automation testing tools required, experience with HP QuickTest PRO is a plus Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies Thorough understanding of Software Development Lifecycle Experience with relational databases and SQL Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities Must be resourceful and self-motivated Preferred Qualifications Experience working with offshore or geographically remote QC teams Knowledge of and experience with fixed income securities and mathematics
