Description:
Provides assistance to self-pay patients. Maintains working knowledge of governmental and community resources and offers alternatives to help the needy. Facilitates application process and transfers. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
Position Purpose:
Provides financial counseling assistance and customer service to patients and families. Prepares and processes legal documents related to the payment process for MercyOne. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.
What you will Do:
Coordinates and implements the collection process
Negotiates monthly payment agreement with guarantor
Works with patients and families to implement financial assistance program
Prepares, processes and maintains legal documents and litigation accounts.
Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures
Hours/Schedule:
Monday - Friday
8 am to 4:30
ONSITE (NO REMOTE OPTION)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's social work or related field preferred.
Two years' experience in health care finance setting preferred.
