The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet the highest standards of compliance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This role will involve developing, implementing, and improving quality systems, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace/defense environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve quality processes and documentation.
- Support compliance with AS9100, ISO, and customer-specific requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive action initiatives (CAPA).
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Review and approve first article inspections (FAIs), PPAPs, and Certificates of Conformance (CoCs).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead internal audits and support external customer or regulatory audits.
- Provide training and guidance on quality systems, standards, and tools.
- Ensure timely resolution of non-conformance reports (NCRs) and discrepancy reports (DRs).
- Monitor quality metrics and prepare reports for management and customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline .
- 3-5 years of quality engineering experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing .
- Strong understanding of AS9100, ISO, and FAA/DoD quality standards.
- Proven experience with FAIs, PPAPs, and supplier quality management.
- Skilled in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and CAPA processes.
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies; certification a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC software).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
