As a GIS Analyst for the City of Plano, you'll play a key role in supporting city operations and enhancing community services through innovative GIS solutions. You'll collaborate with internal departments, provide technical expertise, and deliver data-driven insights that make a real difference.
Your responsibilities will include : Managing and maintaining GIS data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability across multiple departments. Designing, developing, and maintaining maps, web applications, and dashboards using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related tools. Analyzing spatial data to support planning, decision-making, and public-facing initiatives. Supporting cross-departmental projects by gathering requirements, creating GIS solutions, and integrating data from multiple sources. Providing technical assistance and training to staff and stakeholders on GIS tools and best practices. Ensuring data quality, compliance, and alignment with the City's GIS standards and policies. The ideal candidates will have:
Education or formal training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Hands-on experience with Esri's ArcGIS platform - both ArcGIS Pro/Desktop and ArcGIS Online. A strong understanding of GIS concepts, analysis techniques, and data management. Excellent troubleshooting abilities, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for leveraging GIS to deliver community-focused solutions.
