Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled
Data Engineer
to join our team in
Northern Virginia . This role requires strong hands-on expertise in
Python, PySpark, Snowflake, EMR, and EKS
to design and implement scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions. The ideal candidate will have prior
Freddie Mac experience , deep technical knowledge of modern data platforms, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain
data pipelines and workflows
using
Python and PySpark . Build and optimize large-scale
data processing systems
leveraging
Snowflake
and
AWS EMR . Deploy, monitor, and manage
containerized data applications
on
EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver
end-to-end solutions . Ensure
data quality, reliability, and performance
across platforms. Implement and maintain
ETL/ELT processes
for structured and unstructured data. Optimize data architecture for
scalability, cost-efficiency, and security . Participate in
code reviews, design sessions, and best practice development
for data engineering standards. Leverage prior
Freddie Mac domain knowledge
to align solutions with business and regulatory requirements. What You'll Bring 5+ years
of experience as a
Data Engineer
with strong expertise in:
Python
and
PySpark
for data processing. Snowflake
for cloud-based data warehousing. AWS EMR
for big data processing. AWS EKS (Kubernetes)
for containerized workloads.
Strong experience in
ETL/ELT design and implementation . Prior
Freddie Mac project experience
(highly preferred, must-have for top consideration). Hands-on experience in building
scalable data pipelines and distributed data systems . Solid understanding of
data modeling, performance tuning, and data governance best practices . Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with
AWS cloud ecosystem
(S3, Lambda, Glue, IAM, etc.). Knowledge of
CI/CD pipelines
for data engineering (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.). Familiarity with
Kafka or other streaming platforms . Financial services or mortgage domain expertise.
