Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Network Engineer to support ongoing infrastructure projects, including data center routing/switching and firewall migrations. This role is essential to maintaining uptime, implementing secure network solutions, and supporting both on-prem and cloud-based topologies.
As a Network Engineer, you will work closely with team members to troubleshoot escalated issues, participate in design discussions, and execute hands-on configuration tasks. You'll also contribute to a culture of learning, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Support and backfill networking projects including data center routing/switching and firewall replacements. Perform hands-on firewall migrations and configuration transfers via CLI (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco). Participate in the design and support of on-prem and AWS cloud network topologies. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network issues with a focus on uptime and performance. Collaborate with team members in a supportive, transparent environment. Implement and maintain network configurations, firmware, and software updates. Monitor network performance and apply updates to ensure compliance and security. Maintain network diagrams, system configurations, and documentation. Participate in weekly on-call rotation and support off-hours implementations. Key Requirements Proven experience with AWS networking and cloud-based infrastructure. Hands-on experience with firewall migration/configuration via CLI (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco). Strong background in data center routing/switching (BGP, Cisco Catalyst). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Bash, Python, Ansible). Strong troubleshooting skills in high-uptime environments. Ability to provide transparent proof of certifications or technical skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Team-first mindset with a willingness to ask questions and support others. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SD-WAN/SDN converged networks (Cisco, VMware, FortiGate, AWS). Familiarity with Clos networking architecture. Knowledge of protocols and services: NFS, VRFs, VNIs, VLANs, SNMP, DHCP, Kerberos. Experience with network protocols: BGP, VxLAN, IPsec, SD-WAN. Centralized firewall management experience (FortiGate, Palo Alto). Basic Linux troubleshooting skills. Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Cisco DNAC, Ekahau). Packet capture and analysis tools (Wireshark, NetFlow, IP SLA). Experience with Meraki and Fortinet wireless support. Culture Fit Down-to-earth and team-oriented personality.
