STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company, is currently seeking a Planning and Production Coordinator in Charlotte, NC. The Production and Planning Coordinator is responsible for the production schedule and inventory control for a large manufacturing plant. Role includes data entry, analyzing historical data and customer needs to create production orders, assisting management and employees. This position will also verify inventory accuracy, ensure transactions are accurate, physical and virtual verification of finished goods and raw materials. Communicates issues and waste performance through work order completion. This position is located at 1201 Westinghouse Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITIONUnderstands production demand from Sales and associated customer requirements to determine production plan for facility to meet goals. Review production planning weekly with Production Superintendent and General Manager for alignment and with the Supply Chain/Purchasing Manager to ensure adequate inbound raw material. Review orders and ability to meet them based on plan. Creates production orders and works with Operations Support to be a functional user and maintain ERP system. Ensures transactions for finished goods and raw materials are properly accounted for. Makes adjustments as needed.Compiles and accurately enters production and scrap data to a central location for consumption and production; Maintains plant metrics summary on a monthly basis.Checks all production data daily - not limited to but including production reporting, inventory tags, and inventory locations.Plans and orders roll inventory based on demand planning/forecast.Creates, maintains, and communicates production plan for all products sku's.Creates and maintains tracking spreadsheet for all raw, WIP, and finished goods.Maintains relationships with vendors to source and meet raw production needs.Supports overall operation with any related service providers for the facility. Assists with physical inventory during month end production reporting, and conducts spot audits regularly to ensure inventory levels match ERP system.Supports plant communications through digital signage upkeep, ensuring production owned screens are current and up-to-date.Creates/modifies plant schedule and communicates to ensure all necessary departments are aware of changes and issues that alter planning.Attends daily plant meetings.Other duties as required.Regular and predictable attendance.OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDEReceives, sorts and distributes incoming mail received daily.Supports purchasing operations for production supplies and other materials with input from Supply Chain/Purchasing Manager, Production Superintendent, and Plant Manager. Complies with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.Conforms to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures and policies to assure products are suitable for food contact.Responsible for reporting any product quality or food safety issues to the Quality Manager (SQF Practitioner) or Management Team member.REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONSHigh School degree or GEDExperience working as a planning and production coordinator in a manufacturing environmentAdvanced Excel skills/knowledgePREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONSCollege EducationLean Six Sigma certificationContinuous process improvementData analysis and reportingREQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.) Team-oriented mindset Proficient in Microsoft office; moderate level in Excel; can create PowerPoint Slides.Ability to type at reasonable speed.
