We are seeking a Material Planner to play a key role in ensuring material availability and optimizing inventory investment by leveraging accurate forecasting and data analysis. In this role, you will manage daily kanban execution audits, collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and leverage tools like D365, Power BI, and SQL to maintain up-to-date planning dashboards. You will also lead problem-solving initiatives, drive process improvements through Kaizen events, and contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. If you are passionate about enhancing supply chain performance and supporting production goals, this opportunity is for you!WHAT YOU WILL DO•Based on PSI forecasts, historical usage and anticipated NPD implementations, accurately size Kanban's and the inventory investment to assure material availability without inventory waste.•Forecast monthly material requirements to vendors to ensure material availability, based on historical data and S&OP demand.•Perform daily Inventory Management at Gemba, including a comprehensive and detailed daily audit of kanban execution.•Keep planning tools and dashboards updated based on D365, KanBan Box, and SQL server data.•Support S&OP forecast process using data modeling to improve accuracy.•Develop operation dashboards based on Excel and Power BI skills•Work with supervisors, cell operators and indirect hourly operators to quantify, prioritize, problem solve, create countermeasures for, and ensure elimination of kanban execution errors.•Direct contact with outside suppliers, transportation carriers, customer service, and operations staffs to meet/exceed current and projected customer requirements, assuring material availability and optimal inventory levels.•Monitor and suggest improvements to create a safe working environment, and respond appropriately to any accidents or issues, including OSHA recordable incidents, as required.•Conduct DMP activities in cells improving parts presentation, kanban execution and material flow.•Work with suppliers using e-Kanban. Create and maintain scheduled Purchase Orders from Blanket Purchase Agreements as required.•Monitor supplier delivery performance using e-Kanban analysis reporting to maintain system lead times, determine safety stock levels, and hold suppliers accountable for performance improvement.•Identify and manage actual and potential material availability problems.•Root Cause/ Corrective Actions to short term and permanent solutions to material supply issues.•Analyze actual inventory vs. design to reduce inventory waste. Analyze design inventory and develop ideal inventory targets and countermeasures.•Maintain supermarket 5S at a minimum 3S level. Audit supermarket 5S daily and work with Supervisors, cell operators and indirect operators to standardize and sustain.•Contributes, in the capacity of a team member, individually, or as a reference, to resolving materials quality issues and increasing manufacturing productivity.•Frequently participate in and lead continuous improvement workshops (kaizen) with team members to improve quality, delivery, and productivity.•Contribute to the achievement of departmental goals regarding factory on time delivery, inventory turnover ratio, supplier on time delivery, etc.•As assigned, act as a team member for APD project implementation. Participate in 3P events to establish DMP in association with APD projects.•Other duties as assigned by Manager.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesWHO YOU ARE•Bachelor of Science in Business or Operations Management is preferred.
