As a part of Walmart Global Tech, you will build state of the art personalization and recommendation solutions that will elevate the e-commerce experience of millions of customers. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Personalization team under Customer Experience organization. You will be in the unique position to bring a broader impact to Walmart's customers and associates by building features and solutions that power ML model inferencing and governance at scale, contributing to highly engaging customer experiences across channels.

About Team:
Our team collaborates closely with US stores and eCommerce to serve customers better through technological innovation. Walmart U.S. offers a wide range of products valued by customers shopping online or in-store, focusing on customers, stores, employees, merchant tools, data science, search, and personalization.
What you'll do:
- Lead development of feature store stacks supporting hybrid retrieval, diverse data modalities, and multi-tenant access control.
- Design and govern platform standards for memory management, schema evolution, and registry integration.
- Collaborate with science and engineering teams on scalable solutions for cross-functional projects.
- Work with stakeholders to define strategy, vision, and roadmap for personalization and recommendations.
- Set technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems managing workflows across various data and ML pipelines.
- Contribute to the research community and represent Walmart in technical forums.
What you'll bring:
- Expertise in architecting hybrid memory systems for large-scale AI/ML systems.
- Experience designing feature store platforms for real-time and offline processing.
- Advanced knowledge of distributed systems architecture.
- Experience with ontologies and semantic search in memory retrieval.
- Hands-on experience migrating or consolidating large-scale data platforms.
- Strong influence skills for cross-organization initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills.
