As an early Machine Learning Engineer at MAI, you will be the architect of our agents' intelligence. You will have end-to-end ownership over the models that power our autonomous system—from training and fine-tuning state-of-the-art reasoning models to deploying them within a complex agentic framework. This is a unique opportunity to work on novel problems at the intersection of LLMs, reinforcement learning, and real-world decision-making, seeing your work directly translate into autonomous actions that drive value for our customers.
What You’ll Do
- Train and Fine-Tune State-of-the-Art Models: You will lead the end-to-end development of our core marketing and reasoning models. This involves fine-tuning advanced transformer models using a unique blend of marketing performance data, human feedback, and reinforcement learning techniques to create agents that can strategize and self-improve.
- Design and Build Agentic Systems: You will integrate your models into our core agentic platform. You'll work on the architecture that enables agents to perform complex reasoning, create plans, use tools (like APIs and code interpreters), and learn from the outcomes of their actions in a continuous feedback loop.
- Develop Advanced Signals and Features: You'll collaborate with our engineering and data science teams to transform raw, multi-platform data into powerful signals. You will own the feature engineering and data pipelines that are crucial for training highly performant models and giving our agents a deep understanding of the marketing landscape.
- Deploy and Optimize for the Real World: You will own the full lifecycle of your models in production. This includes everything from model evaluation and optimization (e.g., quantization, efficient inference) to building the MLOps systems required for continuous deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Collaborate on a World-Class Product: You'll partner with software engineers to ensure your models work seamlessly within our customer-facing products, including our chat UI and the tools our agents use, delivering a truly intelligent and reliable user experience.
What You'll Bring
- A Master’s degree or PhD’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, OR a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of specialized experience in machine learning.
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- A strong foundation in machine learning theory and practice, with a deep passion for building AI-native solutions to complex problems.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can navigate ambiguity and take ownership of open-ended projects.
We’d be especially excited if you have experience in:
- ML models / LLM Development: Familiar with common ML / deep learning training & serving frameworks. Directly training, fine-tuning and deploying large language models.
- Agentic Frameworks: Building with or contributing to frameworks like LangGraph, or developing custom systems that combine LLMs with external tools.
- Data Engineering & MLOps: Building production-grade data pipelines and deploying models in a cloud environment.
