Job Description
The Associate D irector, Community CAR-T Enablement report s to the Head of US Provider Access Strategy & Marketing and is responsible to drive strategies, tactics, and initiatives aimed at knocking down barriers and obstacles to community oncology adoption and administration of CAR-T. This individual will partner closely with the National Account Directors for McKesson and Cencora , as well as the broader K ey A ccount D irector (KAD) and field sales teams, to develop tools, resources, initiatives, and materials to support relevant customer-facing efforts. This position is based in our Santa Monica, CA headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
Community Oncology Enablement
Develop tools, resources, and tactical initiatives to support the enablement of community oncology practices as Authorized Treatment Centers (ATCs)
Identify and address operational barriers to community-based CAR-T administration, including infrastructure, staffing, reimbursement, and logistics
Support the development and implementation of third-party partnerships and platforms (e.g., apheresis networks, digital enablement tools, external logistics providers)
Strategic Account Support
Directly support the National Account Director, Community Engagement – McKesson and National Account Director, Community Engagement – Cencora in their strategic and operational engagement with affiliated accounts
Assist in the execution of strategic account plans, including site expansion assessments, onboarding readiness, and referral pathway development
Contribute to quarterly business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and performance tracking for community oncology accounts
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with internal teams including Customer Engagement, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Supply Chain, and Trade/Contracting to ensure alignment and execution of community-focused initiatives
Partner with the Provider Access Strategy & Marketing team to ensure consistency in messaging, tools, and resources across the LBCL and MM franchises
External Engagement & Partnerships
Engage with external stakeholders and organizations (e.g., FACT, COA, third-party vendors) to support Kite’s strategic imperatives in community oncology
Support the development and pull-through of integrated care delivery models, data-sharing agreements, and value-based initiatives tailored to community settings
Insights & Resource Development
Gather and synthesize insights from community oncology practices to inform strategy and resource development
Develop scalable, compliant, and user-friendly materials to support onboarding, reimbursement education, and operational readiness
Basic Qualifications
Advanced scientific degree (i.e., MD, PharmD, PhD) and 6 + years of experience OR
Master’s Degree and 8 + years of experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 10 + years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
6–8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with a focus on oncology, market access, and/or provider strategy
Strong understanding of the operational and economic dynamics of community oncology practices
Experience supporting oncology-focused strategic accounts or national networks (e.g., McKesson, Cencora , US Oncology, ION)
Familiarity with CAR-T or other complex therapies, including site-of-care challenges and reimbursement pathways
Demonstrated ability to develop provider-facing tools and resources that drive operational enablement
Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to travel up to 30–40% to support field engagement and account support
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decision making, strategy, and execution across partners and functions
Demonstrated high levels of emotional intelligence, situational awareness, ability to build and influence positive culture across teams
E xperience leading change-based initiatives and/or marketing & strategy projects
U nderstanding of the reimbursement landscape for CAR-T and the unique aspects of single case agreements, network requirements, etc.
Experience developing processes that accommodate the operational differences between hospital systems and community centers
Strong understanding of US cell therapy coverage and reimbursement and demonstrated ability to successfully address customer questions
Understanding of healthcare regulations, pricing protections, and legal compliance
Robust project management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize clear deliverables across multiple customers in tight timelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
