Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVOR Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/15/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Facility: Prisma Health Richland Hospital Location: Columbia, South Carolina ➤ Contract Details: Duration: 13 weeks (with option to extend to 26 weeks) Start Date: September 15, 2025 Shift: Day Shift | 4x10-Hour (06:00 - 16:30) Weekends: Every 4th weekend Call Required: Yes (Details discussed in interview) ➤ Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing specialized perioperative care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing complex cardiovascular surgeries. The ideal candidate is a proficient and adaptable RN with a strong background in open-heart procedures and a commitment to excellence in a high-acuity environment. ➤ Key Responsibilities: Provide circulating and/or scrub nursing care within the Cardiovascular Operating Room. Manage all aspects of patient care before, during, and after open-heart and other cardiovascular surgical procedures. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other interdisciplinary team members. Utilize and maintain specialized surgical equipment specific to CVOR. Adhere to strict sterile techniques and patient safety protocols. Float to other qualified units within the Prisma Health system as required due to census needs. ➤ Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience. Must have recent Open Heart experience. (This is a critical requirement). Minimum 1 year of recent experience with EPIC EMR. Travel experience is not required. Licensure & Certifications: Active Compact RN License (or willingness to obtain SC license). BLS (Required). ACLS (Highly Preferred). Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Other Requirements: Floating: Must be willing to float to other units as needed. Holidays: Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day). Time Off: Cannot take time off between Christmas and New Year's. Compliance: Flu Vaccine is required (No Exemptions). COVID-19 vaccine is not required. ➤ Unit & Facility Details: Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics. Unit Size: 5 Rooms / 5 Beds. Trauma Level: Level I Trauma Center Experience (Preferred). Support: Strong interdisciplinary support including IV Teams and Radiology. Charting System: EPIC. ➤ Traveler Policy & Compliance: Travel Distance Rule: Travelers must reside >100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible.
