The
Principal Cloud Architect
is a leadership role requiring technical expertise in cloud architecture, influencing best practices, and leading major initiatives across Craft Education. The role involves solving complex issues, implementing innovative solutions, and fostering a positive culture aligned with WGU principles. Essential Functions
Utilize AI tools to enhance infrastructure deployment efficiency. Design and implement cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs. Lead architectural reviews and provide analysis feedback. Manage hardware platform design and develop system solutions. Analyze systems to identify improvements and develop solutions. Mentor and train engineers in DevOps and CI/CD methodologies. Support product teams in testing, validation, and deployment activities. Ensure systems are highly available with proper backup and disaster recovery. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expertise in AWS services and cloud infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong Linux and Windows system administration skills in cloud or virtualized environments. Experience in cloud operations, monitoring, and alerting. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a university degree or equivalent, 6+ years in IT production workload, and 3+ years in AWS services and automation tools. Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect are preferred. Physical Requirements
