We are currently looking for consultants with prior Capital One experience to join our team as a Java Full Stack Engineer with AWS expertise. Role: Java Full Stack Engineer with AWS (Capital One) Location: 1st Preference: Richmond, VA 2nd Preference: Dallas, TX Work Model: Hybrid Client: Banking Interview Process: First Round: Video Call Second Round: Face-to-Face Interview Role Overview: As a Consultant Java Full Stack Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our client's banking technology initiatives. Leveraging your extensive experience at Capital One, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust, scalable, and secure full-stack applications. This role requires a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies, with a deep specialization in the Java ecosystem and the AWS cloud platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive powerful customer experiences and meet critical business objectives. Your prior experience with Capital One's technological environment, processes, and culture is a mandatory requirement for this role. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications using a modern technology stack, with a primary focus on Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. Develop and maintain highly performant and scalable microservices and APIs (RESTful and/or GraphQL). Implement secure, resilient, and scalable solutions leveraging various AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, and API Gateway. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality software solutions. Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices. Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing timely and effective solutions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by advocating for and implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Mentor junior engineers and share your expertise within internal technology communities. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance our technical capabilities. Mandatory Skills & Qualifications: Prior Capital One Experience is REQUIRED. Proven experience as a Full Stack Java Developer with a strong focus on back-end development. Extensive experience with the Java ecosystem, including Java 8+, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security). Hands-on experience with a variety of AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SQS, SNS). Solid experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue is a plus. Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in database systems (both relational and NoSQL), including schema design and optimization. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
