Job Title

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assist the marketing team in executing digital campaigns that align with author outreach, publicity, and event initiatives. 2. Assist in developing and implementing targeted email marketing campaigns in coordination with team members, including the Journals Manager, using segmentation, A/B testing, and analytics to increase engagement and revenue. 3. Maintain and update metadata for book titles across UH Press' internal systems and external platforms; resolve discrepancies such as errors or missing data on the UH Press website, Amazon, and other online platforms. 4. Gather and input metadata for distributed partners, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate records for the internal database and for digital discoverability and reporting. 5. Create digital assets and promotional content for email campaigns, online ads, social media, and the UH Press website. 6. Assist with catalog-related tasks as assigned. 7. Support integrated marketing efforts by participating in planning meetings and sharing insights and digital best practices. 8. Other related tasks as assigned during the appointment period. Minimum Qualifications 1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field, and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in marketing, digital communications, or copywriting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles, with the ability to effectively apply industry terminology and concepts. 3. Understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations related to marketing communications. 4. Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve a wide range of marketing-related challenges. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a variety of audiences and platforms. 6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal teams, external partners, and vendors. 7. Proficiency in using personal computers and standard office software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications such as Docs, Forms, and Sheets. 8. Familiarity with blogging platforms such as WordPress, including basic publishing and maintenance tasks. 9. Proficiency with image/photo editing software such as Canva and Photoshop. Desirable Qualifications 1. Experience using Biblio, Naviga, or a similar relational database, and working knowledge of using HTML and ONIX for managing publishing metadata. 2. Proficiency with graphic design software such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, or equivalent tools. 3. Experience in marketing books, journals, or other publications, particularly within academic or trade publishing. 4. Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. 5. Working knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices, including keyword research, metadata optimization, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Google Search Console. 6. Experience managing and optimizing digital advertising campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook/Meta Ads, or Amazon Ads.
